I fell of my bike the other day. But instead of getting back up and continuing along my merry way, this time was a lot worse. I was projected straight over the handle bars of my bike going down a hill just after leaving home on the way to uni.
I crashed in a way, that I broke my fall with my shoulder area and sliced of a large chunk of bone from my collar. As this happened so fast, I was unable to predict the fall, and ended up crashing in such a way.
A witness told me that I had also landed on my head and neck area...
luckily I was wearing my helmet, I was heavily concussed and not really aware of my situation.
I was taken to hospital by an ambulance and checked over by a doctor and then x-rayed to relive the damage. I was told that the full pain would be apparent in about 5 days time and that the whole thing would take about 6 weeks to heal and recover.
This is really frustrating as I've only just started back at uni after waiting months over the summer holidays. I am now worried that this injury will hinder my movements to and from my place of study. And I hope that my work will not suffer due to this...
This is a new blog of the next couple of weeks to follow. I will take a photograph each day to see the state of my skin as it erupts in a mass of multicolour.
My bike, that came out unharmed.
Second visit to the Hospital.
The doctor said ever before asking to look at my shoulder, how long ago had I injured myself? As he was very surprised to see I was not in much pain and moving my arm around already.
He said it is as if it was an old injury he was examining, as it's healed at such a quick rate. The doctor took a voice memo note about me and that was that. I asked was there anything else needed to be done, he said no but can I come back in next week to check on the progress and even another x-ray to make sure it's healing correctly.
It appears I am healing at a very quick rate, it should really take the full 6 weeks to heal and for me to be able to use it fully again. But as it is, I should be up and running rather quickly!
I believe this quick healing maybe down to my diet. I am vegetarian. And recently I have been pumping my body full of goodness.
Flux seed- Which is a combination of, omega 3, protein, dietary fibre, lignans, zinc and vitamin e.
I have also been eating a lot of green foods, packed full of calcium.
Spinach and broccoli.
