I can instantly recognise this font from anywhere. It is probably one of few fronts I can. And I have a real problem with people using it, as it reminds me of my first encounters of it back in the mid 90s, when using the funky Word-Art selection on Mirosoft-word in school. It was my choice font back in the day. So, seeing it continually being used by "adults" really bothers me, and you can almost find it anywhere. As now I have a grounding and an actual valid opinion on the topic of typography, I feel highlighting it's banal daily routine and over use is justified. One can argue its become the same as the invisible Helvetica. A font that has been used too much and is now disregarded by the viewer. Here is a gallery of much 'Impact'. |
