Rare & unique Mid Century floor lamp. In brass with textured coloured shades. Designer/ original unknown. C,1950s.
Dimensions- 1,570 h x 740 x 320 mm 250 w mm base
Design/ origin- Mid Century floor lamp, with two adjustable side spot lights with fixed central light shade. Designer/ maker/ origin unknown. Likely French or Italian. Possibly by Gino Sarfaati for Arteluce, Italy.
The light itself is a wonderful blend of materials and construction techniques. The two side shades adjust to a desired position by a large brass wing-nut. Making them useful as spotlights. The central light remains fixed, directing light to fill the room. There are individual switches on each light. After the lights are turned off, the switches glow! A great little design feature (see last image).
Condition- The light has been fully restored, however, still bears some of it's age and patina, with a few old scratches on the black painted stem. The entire light has been re-wired by a professional. With everything functioning as it should. The central black shade is slightly misshapen, as pictured.
New white wool felt has been added to the iron base, to give a soft firm platform.
