A striking rare pair of mid century pendant ceiling lights by BECO model 350, Don Brown / Brown Evans & Co. Melbourne, Australia c,1959.
In great original condition. Spun aluminium shade with a moulded polystyrene diffuser.

Design/ origin- Mid Century Modern Australian collectable light. By designer/ architect Donald Brown C,1947 - 1964. Rare/ collectable ceiling lights. Even more desirable as a matching pair.
Design resembles that of the space-race era. UFO saucer or the like. Modern technologies and materials of the time that produced this modern ceiling light.
BECO lighting was recently featured on Australian Restoration on ABC. Where a period house in Beaumaris, Melbourne was being restored along with its original light fittings. These lights were choice pieces by architects of the time and were cutting edge in their design principals and materials.
Condition- Stunning original condition, polished recently with new fabric purple flex cable, in working order. One lights has a few small dents to the top on the grey shad, as pictured. The other has a small crack on the edge of the plastic defuser, which has a piece of clear tape to hold in place. See picture. This is barely noticeable. ___________________________
