Styled in the fashion of the traditional cantilevers of the Dutch & German 1920s designs, the likes of the Bauhaus' Marcel Breuer. Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Mart Stam. Many were manufactured by Thonet, France. Now genuine examples are still made by Thonet and also Knoll, USA, depending on the designer and model.
Chair are made up of a tubular chromed steal frame, a leather sling constructed seat fits around with large over stitching in matching colour, there are support braces beneath for extra strength. The rear of the chair has a distinctive large looped handle at the top, making a notable detail of this design.
Overall condition is great for their age. All defects have been photographed. Leather has been conditioned recently, the chrome work has also been polished but there are signs of corrosion to the metal on some chairs. There are the expected scratches and discolouration to some chairs, also with some loose stitching, please refer to multi image.
