Restored F114 Framac winged ply-formed tub office chair.

Australia, c,1960s.

Wide armed-bucket swivel office armchair, constructed by a moulded plywood body.

Attributed to Framac. Base stamped Doerner Faultless, Canada. Which was the manufacturer for the iron gas lift base.

Chair recovered in quality tan vinyl upholstery fabric. Cast aluminium four star base which was a typical feature in American office chairs of the time, for example the likes of Eames & Eero Saarinen.

Australian - Collector's piece.

There were many similar chairs on the market at the time in various countries around the world.

The original is yet to be decided; Finland's Olii Mannermaa for Martela c,1955 and then also for Cassina later on. America's Eero Saarinen, who also designed very similar chairs, with the same ply moulded internal structure, also using Doerner Faultless parts.

Dimensions-

840 h (adjustable 40/50 extra mm)

705 w

640 d

460 seat h

Design-

Wide-armed bucket seat with wings. Chair adjusts by turning a large threaded collar on the base. Super comfortable chair! Perfect for that Mid century modern look in the office.

Condition-

Chair has been totally recovered recently, however there is one small nip at the rear top, see photo.

All defects have been photographed. Aluminium has been polished, but has usual knocks/scratches from age. There is an old weld on the base plate, which holds strong. Castors all function and have recently been greased. Please refer to multi image.
